Healthtech and pharma product design
Work · Updated
My healthtech and pharma work is for the people behind care: pharma regulatory teams (the Entvin website), businesses ordering medicines (HelpNow's InstaMed app) and children's therapy centre staff (an OceanFriends dashboard redesign). I haven't built HIPAA-certified or EHR systems, and I say so before scoping anything.
What's different about designing for healthcare teams
The users are busy professionals doing a task between other tasks. Someone ordering medicines for a business, a therapy-centre team checking a dashboard between sessions and a regulatory lead reading about an AI tool all want the answer on the first screen. None of them has time for a tour.
The buyer and the user are often different people. At a pharma company, whoever signs off on a tool like Entvin's is rarely the first person to read its website. The page has to work for both: plain claims for whoever is shortlisting, and proof and customer names for whoever signs.
Trust carries more weight than usual. In medicine ordering, a wrong quantity or a vague delivery status leaves a business without the medicine it ordered. In regulatory work, an AI tool that overclaims loses the room. Here, copy that states exactly what the product does and nothing more is a design decision.
The work
Entvin Website: Designed and shipped SaaS website with clear positioning, product storytelling and conversion-focused flows
Entvin (YC S22) builds AI agents for pharma regulatory work and drug development. I designed its SaaS website: the positioning, the product story and the conversion flows, written for regulatory teams at pharma companies who need to understand what the agents do before they book a call.

InstaMed was a sub-brand of HelpNow (YC W20): a B2B app for ordering medicines delivered door to door. I designed the app. Both HelpNow and InstaMed have since closed.
OceanFriends makes software for children's therapy centres. I redesigned a dashboard used by the centres' teams and designed banners for the company's events.
Entvin website (live): The SaaS website for Entvin's regulatory AI agents for life sciences, from positioning through to the conversion flows.
What I don't do in healthcare
- HIPAA, FHIR or EHR-certified systems. I haven't designed one, and the compliance side needs people who have.
- Patient-facing medical devices or clinical decision tools.
- Clinical research with patients. For that you need a dedicated researcher with the right approvals.
Where I fit is the product and website around the clinical core: ordering and delivery flows, dashboards for care and operations staff, and websites that explain a pharma or healthtech product to the professionals who buy it.
How a project usually runs
A website like Entvin's starts with positioning: who reads it, what they already believe, and the claims the product can back. Then the page structure, then design and build. A dashboard redesign starts with sitting with the people who use it, or reading their support requests, to find which numbers they look for first.
For the scope and pricing of each, see SaaS product design for apps and dashboards, or startup website design for marketing sites.
Questions people ask
Do you have HIPAA or EHR experience?
No. I haven't designed HIPAA-certified, FHIR or EHR systems. My healthcare work is a pharma regulatory AI website, a B2B medicine delivery app and a therapy-centre dashboard redesign.
Can you design a website for a pharma or life sciences SaaS?
Yes. I designed Entvin's website, which explains AI agents for pharma regulatory work to the teams who buy them. It's live at entvin.com.
Do you design pharmacy or medicine ordering apps?
I designed InstaMed, HelpNow's B2B app for door-to-door medicine delivery. Both companies have since closed, so I can walk you through the work on a call but can't link to a live app.
